    The attack on census escorting team in Lahore, Punjab
The Pakistani Tehreek e Taliban claimed the attack on census escorting team in Lahore, Punjab. Radio Pakistan, the state radio confirmed that the suicide bomb attack claimed 6 lives while wounding 15 others. 
“Six persons including four security officials were martyred and fifteen injured in a suicide attack on a van at Badian Road in Lahore”, the state radio stated.  
On the other hand a statement by the TTP spokesman Khurasani claimed the attack. The statement told that the attack took place on the Lahore’s Bidian road when the military vehicle was targeted.
The Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the attack in their statements and expressed their condolences on the loss in the suicide attack.
It’s the second attack after the Pakistani official from Balochistan was abducted when he was on his way when the education department employees would remain part of the census process. Earlier three teachers in Balochistan’s Awaran district were abducted when they were returning from the census training process in the hot bed of the Baloch separatist zone.  
Earlier the Pakistan federal government announced the launch of country’s sixth census after a two decade long gap.
The Pakistan Federal Minister for Information Marrium Aurangzeb and the ISPR Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor shared a joint press conference on the launch of countrywide census in two phases from 15h of March to 25th May.
A separate budget of 18 billion, and 2 lac of the Pakistan Army personnel will be providing security to the census teams and would be monitored from the General Head Quarter in the capital. One lac and 19 thousand civilian servicemen and women would be part the census process. The first phase of the census has been completed while its second phase is underway.
